After 2 prior trips to the Land of Fire and Ice, it seemed finally time to experience the famous Ring Road - the highway route encircling the country. I called up my longtime friend, Ashraf, and without much planning at all, we found ourselves landing in Keflavik.

The first part of the trip was mostly a revisitation of places - a chance to gradually acclimate while mixing in some new sights. The south coast is filled with otherwordly landscapes - black sand beaches, mountains, glaciers, waterfalls, and coastal cliffs abundant.

We eventually cleared Jökulsárlón, meaning each sight and experience was a new one for us. After 10 days one the road logging 1,634 miles, we were exhausted but yet again stunned by the landscapes, animals, history, and kind people of Iceland.
